**READ THIS BEFORE MAKING A BIO!!**
These are the rules for this site. The administrators AND their staff expect that you will follow them.
As far as posting and replies are concerned:
1. All characters must be approved by an Admin BEFORE you start role playing with them, with the exception of Non-Player Characters. (A list of all NPCs can be found in the corresponding category). A Bio form is posted, and that is the guideline all character Bios are expected to follow.
2. All posts must be at LEAST one paragraph long. The definition of a paragraph being 7-10 sentences and/or covering at least three lines. All replies are expected to be in paragraph format. Absolutely no one-liners with no details. Your post must have enough details for the person replying to have something to reply to. And posts shouldn't be more than one reply long, unless it is the first in a thread giving background information that is vital to the storyline. Keep the post length reasonable. Remember, not everyone can write a book.
3. When writing posts, remember that there are people of all ages on here. No excessive violence, cursing or sexual content. There are to be absolutely NO rapes, and no detailed sexual experiences. Your characters can have sex, but details are not to be posted. Details up to and after are allowed, but no in the moment details. If you want your character to have a child, that's also okay, as long as no gruesome child birthing details (if your character dies while giving birth, thats fine, but nothing overly gory). And don't bring a baby into the forum and have it's parents killed and leave it helpless. If you write in a child, make sure there is a character to take care of that child. As far as cursing is concerned, "damn" and "hell" are allowed, as well as substitutes such as "friggin" "freakin" "shiz" etc. This forum is rated at PG-13, so keep it within that limit.
4. On the subject of god-moding: We won't say absolutely no god-moding. The staff here understand that once in a while you need your role playing partner's character to do something to move your post along, and stopping in the middle of your post to let the other person reply is a hassle. So. You may god-mode your role playing partners permission under these pretenses:
a. You MUST have ther permission of the other role player. But if you can't speak to the other character first, make sure the detail is not too much and make an out of character comment prior to the reply that you'll be willing to change it if the other character wants you to.
b. You have an agreement prior to creating a thread that godding for small details (ie. a reply to something your character has said, or moving the other character out of the way of something, things that are within reason...) is no big deal.
There will be absolutely no killing or maiming of another character unless the other person has given you permission.
As far as Bios are concerned:
This site is a mix of many animes, books, and movies. Therefore, we have a set of guidelines for all characters created here. You are allowed to cross over your characters from one topic to another, and you can have abilities, talents, or skills from different topics. Here are the guidelines to follow when making your characters:
1. Your character is allowed ONE ability.
Abilities include, but are not limited to:
-Magic- There are a few different kinds of magic on this forum. The first is Wizzardry. Harry Potter, and LOTR have wizzardry in them. If your character is a HP wizzard (or witch), he or she uses magic to cast spells, tell the future, transfiguration, jinxes, hexes, and curses, etc. depending on the level of magic your character has mastered. There will be no instant death spells allowed, period. An LOTR wizzard, though, would not only rely on his magic, which would be different from HP magic in that it is not as dominant, and he/she would also rely much on his/her physical skills (such as hand to hand combat, swords, etc).
-Energy Fighting-If you make a Saiyan (based off of Dragon Ball Z) your character's ability would be fighting with energy. Humans can also have this ability, but they are considerably weaker than Saiyans and the villians the Saiyans encounter that also use energy. Your character can not automatically become the strongest level of saiyan (which, for this forum, is going to top out at Super Saiyan 3). They must work toward that goal.
-Elements- Avatar element bending will be decided by which people you make your character from, obviously, but only one element pr character. We will have ONE avatar as soon as we get the site-wide plot up, and auditions will be held for the position. Until then, only one element per character. Special bender abilities (i.e. blood bending, metal bending, lightening bending, spirit bending, lava bending, combustion bending, and spirit projection) take years and years to master. If you want a special bending ability, you need to get approval from a mod. This is to prevent power play and god moding.
House of Night vampyres and feldglings can not automatically be gifted with an affinity for an element, as there are many other affinities to choose from. If you want to create a character with an elemental affinity, contact an Admin through PM and we will discuss it.
Really, as far as abilities go, when the admins read your Bio, we will be as lenient as possible when letting you pick them. As long as you aren't making a character that is invincible, you should be okay.
2. Your character is allowed TWO skills.
Skills include, but are not limited to:
Phycial Fighting
Swordsmanship
Bow & Arrow skills
Hunting
Tracking
Skills will be mostly physical. Your character could just be a great athlete. That would also be considered a skill. Once again, it just depends on the character, where they're from, etc.
3. Your character is allowed THREE talents.
Talents include, but are not limited to:
Singing
Dancing
Play an instrument (or more than one)
Writing (stories, poetry)
Entertaining (acting, directing plays, choreography, etc)
Special magic ablilties (transfiguration, animagus, charms, etc)
Talents will be something your character is good at that might not necessarily have to do with anything physical. And once again, this will have a lot to do with the character, and their origins, etc.
*Just because you give your character a powerful ability does not mean that they automatically are allowed to know the highest points of that ability. Nor are your characters allowed to be invincible or invulnerable to ANY other characters' abilities.
**A character does not necessarily have to have an ability, or have more than one skill or talent.
Once again, all three of these will vary from character to character, and topic to topic. The admins understand this, and will be as lenient as possible, while still sticking to the guidelines.
